The Iconic Pitons
Soufriere is a quiet, charming, and beautiful fishing town. The Soufriere Bay is definitely worth seeing, as are the iconic twin peaks the PITONS which are a UNESCO World Heritage site. If you’re considering visiting Soufriere while in Saint Lucia, there are several exciting adventures you can find in this area including the driving volcano, the Diamond Falls, hot springs and mineral baths.
The Pitons are two mountainous volcanic plugs, volcanic spires, located in Saint Lucia. Petit Piton is 743 m high and Gros Piton is 798.25 m high; they are linked by the Piton Mitan ridge. Piton means mountain peak in French, so Petit and Gros Piton respectively refer to the smaller and larger peak.
